December 2014 Katy and her husband and baby visit Katy’s mother’s house for the winter holidays. These three people had to share 1 room and her child kept getting up at night repeatedly searching for the parents and did not sleep again.
Katy started searching the internet to solve this product but unfortunately, she could not find anything. Katy discussed it with her mother, Lou, and in 2016, SlumberPod was born.
In 2018, they managed to raise $45,608 for their project by launching a campaign on Kickstarter. To grow the business, they appeared on Shark Tank Season 11 Episode 10 and asked the sharks for $400,000 for 20% equity at a $2 Million Valuation.
